National Geographic Young Explorer Prashant Mohesh had led the first Deep-Sea Camera Expedition in Mauritius. This visual exploratory mission in collaboration with Odysseo Oceanarium was to understand the marine life at depths ranging from 150m-1500m.
National Geographic Explorers Prashant Mohesh and Daniel Gonzalez-Socoloske are on an expedition in Mauritius, conducting fieldwork to shed light on the silent extinction of the dugong, in Mauritius and Rodrigues Island.
The all-start team of talented individuals pushing the boundaries of exploration behind the yellow border. It was such an incredible week meeting with explorers from all around the world, learning about their work, challenges, and celebrating the success of all our bold and impactful projects.
National Geographic Explorers and Conservation Storytellers Prashant Mohesh and Shamier Magmoet, along with NASA biospheric researcher Lisa Goldberg and NatGeo Africa Regional Lead Dr. Shivan Parusnath, were speakers at the first National Geographic-supported symposium at Odysseo Mauritius. They discussed their work, shared challenges, and provided tips on how to become a NatGeo Explorer.
